Émile Eddé

Émile Eddé (Arabic إميل أده; born May 5, 1886 in Damascus, † September 28, 1949 ) was a Lebanese politician Maronite faith.

Eddé studied in Aix -en- Provence law and has worked as a lawyer in Beirut later. During the First World War, he was one of the founders of the Légion d' Orient of the French army. Eddé was dated 11 October 1929 to the March 25, 1930 Prime Minister of the League of Nations mandate under French Lebanon and founded in 1936, the Lebanese National Bloc party. He was 1936-1941 president of the country and resigned due to the policies of the Vichy government. On November 22, 1943, he was for a day again sitting head of state of the country.
