Emiliano Adrián Insúa Zapata ( born January 7, 1989 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine football player.

Club career

Insúa played in youth at Boca Juniors. 2006 Defensive Allrounder was acquired in the professional squad of the club, but did not play. However, the scouts of Liverpool discovered his talent and in January 2007 he moved on loan to the FA Premier League. It was agreed a rental fee of £ 100,000 and a purchase option at the end of the loan period in the summer of 2008. On April 28, 2007 Insúa debuted in the Premier League in an away game against Portsmouth. As a result, he came only sporadically inserts in the Premier League, but was able to win with the second team of FC Liverpool, the Premier Reserve League. In June 2008, Liverpool took advantage of the option to purchase and Insúa signed a 3-year contract with the Reds.

Insúa changed in 2010 for a year at the Bosphorus to Galatasaray. The club has after the deadline right to purchase the Argentines.

On 27 August 2011, Liverpool announced that Insúa 'll switch to Sporting CP. There he signed a five -year contract until 30 June 2016.

On January 25, 2013 Insúa joined the Spanish side Atlético Madrid. He signed a contract with a term until 30 June 2016.

National team career

Insúa participated with the youth team to the South American Championship in 2007. With a second place qualifying selection for the 2007 World Junior Championships and the 2008 Olympic Games. When held in Canada World Cup he belongs to the Argentine squad. Insúa played there every minute of the tournament and eventually won with the Argentine juniors the world title. In the spring of 2009 he again took part in the U-20 South American Championship and leads Argentina in all nine games as captain on the field. With only one victory, the team finished a disappointing sixth place, however, and thus failed to qualify for the Junior World Championship 2009 in Egypt.
