Engin Bekdemir

Engin Bekdemir ( born February 7, 1992 Beringen ) is a Belgian- Turkish football player who plays for Kayserispor.

Career

KVK Beringen

Bekdemir came in the Belgian town of Beringen as the son of Turkish workers to the world. The family had emigrated from the Turkish Black Sea province of Giresun to Belgium. Bekdemir grew up in modest circumstances. His father was a miner, his mother a housewife. At age five he began in his youth by his local association KVK Beringen with the club football.

PSV Eindhoven

With eight years of his club took part in a tournament in which the youth teams such big clubs such as PSV Eindhoven took part. In the game his team against the youth team of PSV Eindhoven Bekdemir fell on the Talentsichtern of Eindhoven. So he moved in 2001 to the youth of PSV Eindhoven. He trained under former famous players like Phillip Cocu and Ernest Faber. In 2008 he received a professional contract over three seasons, but continued to play for his club Reservemmanschaft.

FC Porto

In 2009 he was scouted by Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa and brought to FC Porto. Here he played and coached the first year in the reserve team. Only towards the end of the 2009/10 season he was also involved by coach Andre Villas -Boas professionals in the training of the professional team. The season 2010/12 he trained almost exclusively with the pros and was also named in the squad. However, he did not come to stakes.

Kayserispor

Without having attended a game for Porto, he moved to the summer of 2011, the highest in the Turkish league for Kayserispor. In his first season he was mainly for the reserve team active, but he also graduated for the professional team two Süper Lig games.

National team career

Bekdemir began early to play for the Turkish youth national teams. He went through from the U- 15, nearly all youth teams. In 2009 he took part with the Turkish U- 17 team at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2009 and reached with his team's quarter-finals.

With the U- 19, he took part in the U-19 Football Championship in 2011, resigned already in the group stage with his team from the tournament.

He also played once in 2011 for the second selection of the Turkish national team.

In two friendlies Bekdemir was nominated for the first time in his career for the Turkish U-21 national team.
