Enock Koech

Enock Koech (born 4 April 1981) is a Kenyan middle and long distance runners.

Koech belongs to the ethnicity of the Nandi and comes from Kericho in the Rift Valley province. He attended the School of Lelmokwo to 1999 and then began begin walking. In 2000 he was taken by Jos Hermens ' company Global Sports Communications under contract and started training with Patrick Sang.

After he was successful in various cross races he won in early 2001 at the national championship in that discipline on the short distance of 4 km and referred the two winners of the World Cross Country Championships last year, John Kemboi Kibowen and Sammy Kipketer, to the places. At the World Cross Country Championships in Ostend he won over the same distance in front of Kenenisa Bekele, who won this competition five times in the following years in a row.

Then he played a successful track season and was the eighth fastest 1500 - meter runner of the year. The following year he had to cancel because of malaria in the short term its start at the Cross Country World Cup. Then it no longer, he managed to build on its previous achievements.
