Sammy Kipketer

Sammy Kipketer ( Sammy Kipketer Cheruiyot, born September 29, 1981 in Rokocho at Kaptarakwa, Keiyo District ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

In 2000 he won at the World Cross Country Championships, the silver medal at the short-distance and won gold with the Kenyan team. A week later, he presented at the Carlsbad 5000 in 13:00 with a world record in the 5 - km road race min. In the Kenyan elimination fights over 5,000 m for the Sydney Olympics, he missed qualifying by a mere 0.6 seconds.

The following year he was fourth at the World Cross Country Championships on the short distance and won the team gold, leveled at the Carlsbad 5000 his world record and set the Parelloop with 27:18 minutes set a world record in the 10 - km road race on.
