Enrico Chiesa

Enrico Chiesa ( born December 29, 1970 in Genoa ) is an Italian former football player and current coach. During his playing career he played at the position of the striker.

Career

In the club

Chiesa 's career began at the amateur club U.S. Pontedecimo, from where he moved to Sampdoria in 1987. His Serie A debut was on April 16, 1989 at 0-1 against AS Roma. Then he collected from 1990 to 1992 match practice in the Series C clubs Teramo Calcio and Calcio Chieti, before he returned to Sampdoria. Since he could not convince at Sampdoria, 1993, he was loaned out to FC Modena and 1994 U.S. Cremonese, where he met in their Serie A season total of 14 times. In 1995 he returned to Sampdoria back, there he formed together with Roberto Mancini an excellent strike partnership, scored 22 goals in 27 games and was elected to the Italian Footballer of the Year in 1996. In the same year he moved to the distinguished club AC Parma, in which along with his congenial partner Hernan Crespo storm he won the 1998/99 UEFA Cup and the Italian Cup, scoring in each of his three seasons over ten Goals in official matches. Chiesa moved to the two Cup wins for nearly 15 million euros to strongly rearming Fiorentina, where he fought with Predrag Mijatovic to a place by storm. Because of this and because of injuries, he was able to achieve only seven goals in the season 1999/2000. In 2000 he rose after the departure of Gabriel Batistuta on the root striker and scored a respectable 22 goals in 30 games. The following season 2001/2002 was for Chiesa due to many injuries rather disappointing, he came only five appearances and scored five goals.

Chiesa then left the club and joined Lazio Rome. He remained there after a bad season for him only a year and moved to AC Siena. In Siena, he climbed back on to the key players and a fan favorite by many important goals he kept Siena in Serie B before the descent. After Chiesa scored at least ten goals in his first three seasons at Siena, he could not score a goal in the following season 2006/ 07. Chiesa was whether his 36 years anyway for the season 2007/ 08 under contract, he competed in this season, however, only two brief appearances.

In summer 2008, Chiesa changed after five years at Siena for two years ASC Figline. After he finished his playing career at end of season 2009/10, he took over the post of head coach at the ASC Figline.

In the National Team

In the Italian national under Arrigo Sacchi Chiesa debuted on 29 May 1996 in a 2-2 draw against Belgium. With Italy, he took part in England and the 1998 World Cup in France at Euro 1996. For the national team, he came 17 times for use and scoring seven goals. His last match he played during the 2000/ 01 season.
