Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn

Enzesfeld- Linda Brunn is a market town with 4174 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Lower Austria in the district of Baden. It bears the name of the community since amalgamation in 1970.

Geography

The municipality is situated on the trie Sting in the eastern foothills of the Lower Austrian Limestone Alps on the edge of the Vienna Basin.

The altitude is 314 m above sea level of Enzesfeld. A. and Linda Brunn 331 m. The municipality has an area of ​​15.77 km ². The proportion of forest area is 60.71 %.

Structure

The municipality comprises the much larger cadastral Enzesfeld with about 3,400 inhabitants and the smaller Linda Brunn, which were merged voluntarily before the municipal reform in 1970. The fact that the two sub- communities, however, are still not completely grown together, shows that there is an independent volunteer fire department, for example, in each of the locations.

Policy

The mayor is Franz Schneider and the chief officer Ing Gregor Gerdenits.

In the local elections of 14 March 2010 involved of the 25 seats on the Social Democratic Party 11 seats ( 43.27 % of valid votes ) List Schneider 7 seats ( 27.29 %), the ÖVP 5 seats (20.1%) and the FPÖ 2 mandates ( 9.34% ), Schneider was elected mayor. History

Both places were first mentioned in the 12th or the 13th century. Already in the 18th century there was a Pechereibetrieb, who worked until 1965.
