Geography

Geographical location

The state-approved climatic health resort is located in the upper Enztal in the northern Black Forest in 560-917 meters altitude.

Of the 2020 hectares of the municipality is 1790 ha ( 88%) of forest land, 6% is used for agriculture, the rest is built-up and traffic area.

Neighboring communities

The municipality is bordered to the north and east of the town of Bad Wildbad, on the southeast by Simmer field, on the southwest by Seewald in the district of Freudenstadt and to the west by Gernsbach and Forbach in the district of Rastatt.

Community structure

The municipality is divided into the districts Enzkloesterle Enzkloesterle ( chief town ), Poppeltal, Gompelscheuer and Nonnenmiß whose northern half is no longer owned Enzkloesterle, but to the neighboring village of Bad Wildbad. The municipality therefore include the village of Enzkloesterle, the hamlet Gompelscheuer, Lappach means Enztal, Poppeltal, Rohnbach and Süßbächle and the homestead Hetschelhof. History

The name of the village goes back to a Cistercian abbey founded in 1145, which was in 1330 the monastery Herrenalb assumed and dissolved in 1536 after the Reformation. The place Enzkloesterle belonged until 1826 to Wildbad and was then independently. In 1935, joined with the community Enzthal that had belonged until 1829 to the municipality Simmer field together. Rußhütte
