Éric Bélanger

Éric Bélanger ( born December 16, 1977 in Sherbrooke, Quebec ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who was active in the National Hockey League during his career for the Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Phoenix Coyotes and Edmonton Oilers.

Career

Éric Bélanger began his career as a hockey player in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he was active for the Beauport Harfangs and Rimouski Océanic 1994-1997. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 in the fourth round as a total 96 players from the Los Angeles Kings.

After three seasons in the American Hockey League with the Fredericton Canadiens, Springfield Falcons and the Lowell Lock Monsters of the attackers were in the 2000 /01 season his debut in the National Hockey League for the Kings. There he was, with the exception of the lockout in the NHL 2004/05 season, in which he stood by the HC Bolzano in the Italian Serie A1 under contract, in the following six seasons in the NHL on. The 2006/07 season began Bélanger at the Carolina Hurricanes, before he was hired by the Nashville Predators on February 9, 2007. This in turn gave the Canadians from the very next day on the Atlanta Thrashers, where he finished the season.

Prior to the 2007/ 08 season the links Sagittarius received as a free agent contract with the Minnesota Wild, for which he played until March 2010. About the Washington Capitals, he was released in September 2010 on the Phoenix Coyotes. July 1, 2011 Bélanger signed a contract for three years with the Edmonton Oilers. For the 2013/14 season, the Canadians moved to Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the Continental Hockey League after the Edmonton Oilers had paid out his contract (buy out). End of September 2013 ended Bélanger his career, after he had asked for the contract.
