Eric Clapton is the first studio album by Eric Clapton. It appeared in 1970 and was mixed by Tom Dowd. It contains a total of 11 shots. The 2006 published deluxe edition includes two CDs and contains 15 bonus tracks, including the original album version of Delaney Bramlett in the mix.

History

After numerous successes with the Yardbirds, the Bluesbreakers by John Mayall, Cream and Blind Faith Clapton took in 1970 on his debut album.

The actual filming began in January 1970 at the Village Recorder studio in West Los Angeles. Other recordings took place in Iceland Studios in London in March 1970. Previously, the band had already played together in November 1969 at Olympic Sound Studio in Barnes. Recordings of this first session were not published until later.

Much of the musicians involved had previously occurred together with Delaney & Bonnie. This band appeared as the opening act for Blind Faith, which Clapton had joined after leaving The Cream. After his solo album, founded Clapton Derek and the Dominos, the Carl Radle, Bobby Whitlock and Jim Gordon belonged to him. These three musicians were part of the band Delaney & Bonnie and therefore were also involved in the recording of Eric Clapton.

The cover photo shows Clapton in a renovated room, located in the carpets and are available for a ladder and a chair. In 2006, Polydor released a deluxe version with additional recordings and originally intended for publication Delaney Bramlett mix of. The lengths of the pieces partially differ significantly from the first publication.

The bonus tracks on the CD 1 were previously predominantly been published. Blues in "A" was released in 1999 on the album Eric Clapton: Blues. Teasin ' was in 1970, a single by King Curtis, which was recorded in the cast Curtis, Clapton, Bramlett, Radle and Gordon. Only She Rides was first released on the deluxe version.
