Eric Koreng

Eric Koreng (born 16 May 1981 in Stralsund ) is a German beach volleyball player.

Career

Koreng began in 1992 with the volleyball in the hall. In 2000, he joined the beach volleyball. With Marcus Popp, he played his first international tournaments and was in Poland in 2003 Vice European Champion Under 23. 2005 Koreng first played with David Klemperer. At the World Championships in Berlin, they did not come on the 25th square. The following year, he finished with his new partner Kay Matysik the 13th place at the European Championship. As Klemperer 2007 replacement for the diseased bronze medalist Kjell Schneider sought, the duo came together and was immediately successful. After a fifth place in 2012 at the Grand Slam in Berlin David Klemperer ended his beach volleyball career. With the new partner Alexander Walkenhorst Eric Koreng was then German vice-champion. Since June 2013 Koreng plays together with Finn Dittelbach.

Koreng is Hauptgefreiter in sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Warendorf and student of Sport and Education.
