Erik Fisher ( born March 21, 1985 in Ontario, Oregon) is an American alpine skier. His greatest successes he celebrates in the disciplines of downhill and Super -G.

Biography

Fisher learned to ski at the age of three years. In 2004 he was admitted as a young runners in the U.S. Ski Association, since 2006, he belongs to the B-team. His first FIS races contested Fisher in December 2001. In Nor- Am Cup, he started for the first time in February 2003, the first victory was followed on 9 December 2005 in the departure of Lake Louise. So far, Fisher won a total of eight races in Nor- Am Cup, which he in 2006 and 2007 ranked second in the overall standings reached over the years and decided in each case twice the super -G standings as well as the exit score for themselves. In 2005, he reached the third place in the downhill at the Junior World Championship.

His debut in the World Cup had Fisher in November 2005. Having one could deny any races due to a cruciate ligament injury almost the entire 2007/08 season, it was not until December 5, 2008 until the first time in the downhill on Beaver Creek with rank 28 World Cup points won. Just two weeks later drove Fisher on December 20 in the downhill in Val Gardena in 7th place - his best result. Similarly successful was he in the departure of Kitzbuehel January 24, 2009, where he was ranked 11. At the 2009 World Championships in Val d'Isere he fell out in the downhill, in super-combined, he renounced after the 28th rank in the downhill to a start in the slalom.

At the World Cup results of the 2008/ 09 Fisher could not initially connect. In the 2009/10 season he went twice in the top 20; in winter 2010/ 11, only twice into the top 30, a place in the Olympic Winter Games in 2010 prevented a hand injury; for the World Cup 2011, he was not nominated by the U.S. federation. In the Nor- Am Cup Fisher achieved two podium finishes in the downhill and thus the sixth rank in the discipline rating in the 2010/11 season. On December 6, 2011 Fisher won the Nor -Am super-G of Nakiska and in February 2012 he reached 12 with two places in the couloirs of Chamonix, his best World Cup results in three years. In March 2012, the season was prematurely ended for him. If it falls on the descents of Sochi and Kvitfjell he had to undergo a cruciate ligament surgery.
