The Kayseri Airport ( IATA code ASR, ICAO code LTAU, also airport Kayseri Erkilet, Turkish Kayseri Havaalanı or Kayseri Erkilet Havaalanı, English Kayseri International Airport or Kayseri Erkilet International Airport or Erkilet International Airport ) is a classified as an international commercial airport traffic airport with military Terms. It is located about ten kilometers north of the city of Kayseri, Cappadocia at the place Erkilet in the Asian part of Turkey. It is operated by the state-owned airport operator DHMI.

History and Facilities

The airport was put into operation in 1998 and is used for both civilian and by the Turkish Air Force. He has one terminal with a capacity of 5.5 million passengers a year and has about 1,164,000 passengers ( 2011). It has a 3000 meter long paved airstrip with instrument landing system (ILS ). The run-up for the civil aviation has a size of 400x102 meters and can accommodate eight transport aircraft. For the military operation, numerous other facilities and hangars are located at the airport.

The airport is reachable by taxi, private car or airport. Front of the terminal there is a parking lot for 430 cars.

Airlines and destinations

2013, the airport from German speaking countries via Istanbul Ataturk by Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines is operated several times daily, seasonal and non-stop from Stuttgart, Dusseldorf and Vienna. By far the largest airline site is Turkish Airlines, which also serves the most frequented route to Istanbul Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. Other domestic destinations, partially flown by Pegasus Airlines, are Sabiha Gokcen, Istanbul's second airport, located on the Asian side of the city and the port city of Izmir. More companies are SunExpress, Atlasjet, Borajet and Sky Airlines. Up to the end also Bluewings flew to Kayseri.
