Ervīns Muštukovs

Ervīns Muštukovs ( born April 7, 1984 in Riga, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since May 2011 at the Odense Bulldogs in the AL -Bank Ligaen under contract.

Career

Ervīns Muštukovs began his career as a hockey player in the Latvian Hockey League in which he was active for the HK Nik's Brih Riga and Daugavpils Stalkers 1999-2003. Then the goalkeeper spent a season with the Canadian junior team Drummondville Voltigeurs in the QMJHL. In summer 2004, the junior national team returned to Latvia, where he stood in the following two and a half years in the Belarusian Extraliga, as well as the Latvian Hockey League for the HK Liepaja Metalurgs between the posts. With this, he was vice-champion in 2006 Latvian.

After he had also started the 2006/07 season at HK Liepaja Metalurgs, Muštukovs changed in the course of the season to the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League. In parallel, he ran on in the ECHL Toledo Storm. In the following season the Lettering was again in Knoxville, as well as the ECHL Elmira Jackals of the team under contract. For the season 2008/ 09 he was engaged by Dinamo Riga from the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League. For Dinamo however, he only played two games in the KHL, during 2000 he graduated from the rest of the season with HK Riga in the Belarusian Extraliga.

He spent the following season at the Dinamo- Juniors Riga, with whom he was Latvian champion before he was in May 2010 committed by the Sheffield Steelers of the British Elite Ice Hockey League. With these he won in the 2010/11 season the championship of the EIHL, where Muštukovs substantial share of the title and had been honored with several awards for this individual. With a catch rate of 92.2 percent, it was the best goalkeeper in the league and presented with ten shutouts a new league record. In May 2011 Muštukovs was committed by the Odense Bulldogs from the AL-Bank Ligaen.

Internationally

For Latvia Muštukovs participated in the U18 Junior B World Cup 2002 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2003 and 2004 and the Winter Olympics, 2010.
