Erwin Wilczek

Feliks Erwin Wilczek ( born November 20, 1940 in Ruda, Upper Silesia ) is a former Polish football player.

He began his career at Wawel Wirek Ruda Slaska. 1954 to 1959 he played in Zryw Chorzów. In the years 1959-1973 he was one of the best Polish players with Gornik Zabrze. For Gornik, he played 394 games and scored 96 goals. He was nine times Polish champion and cup winner six times. In 1970 he played with Gornik Zabrze in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup, the Górnik 2-1 lost against Manchester City. 1973 he moved to U.S. Valenciennes, where he became the top scorer of the 2nd French league.

During his time in Zabrze Wilczek was international. With the Polish national team, he played 16 games.

After the end of playing career, he became a youth coach at Gornik Zabrze. Then he again went to Valenciennes, to be a coach there. His last two coach stations were AS Sogara Port Gentil ( Gabon) and the national team of Gabon. AS Sogara Port Gentil he led until the final of the African Champions Cup.

1986 ended Erwin Wilczek finally his career and is still alive in France.
