Escoma Municipality

The municipality Escoma is an administrative district in the La Paz Department in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The municipality Escoma has been established by law in 2009 as an independent municipality and emerged from the cantons Escoma, Villa Puni, Collasuyo and Peninsula de Challapata who have been to 2009, four of nine cantons of the municipality of Puerto Acosta.

Today, the municipality is Escoma is one of five Municipalities of the province of Heliodorus Camacho and is located in the central part of the province. It is bordered to the northeast, north and west by the municipality of Puerto Acosta, on the south by Lake Titicaca, on the southeast by the municipality of Puerto Carabuco, and on the east by the municipality of Mocomoco.
