Ethnikos Achna FC

Ethnikos Achnas is a football club based in the Cypriot village Achna. It was founded in 1968. The colors of the club are black and blue. The club plays currently headed by President Kikis Philippou in the First Division. First-team coach is Slobodan Vucekovic. Ethnikos Achnas plays in Dasaki Stadium, which offers 4,000 spectators.

Sporting successes

Ethnikos Achnas played after the founding of the association always in the lower leagues of Cyprus. Until 1983 for the first time succeeded in rising to the First Division. After a sporty little successful year after the club was relegated but of post again. 1986 managed the club the renewed rise and they stuck over four seasons in the First Division. After two years in the Second Division Ethnikos Achnas rose again in 1992 in the First Division, and has since been consistently among the top clubs in the country.

The best rankings of the club reached the fourth ranks in the seasons 1994/95 and 1997/98 respectively. 2002 Ethnikos Achnas reached for the first time in club history the final of the Cyprus Football Cup, but lost the team Anorthosis Famagusta 0-1.

In the European club competitions Ethnikos Achnas approached so far four times ( 1998, 2003, 2004, 2006 ) in the Intertoto Cup. 2006 Ethnikos Achnas could qualify for the UEFA Cup for the first time. There, however, you already retired in the 1st round against RC Lens.
