Doxa Katokopias F.C.
Doxa Katokopia is a Cypriot football club from Katokopia in Nicosia and is currently playing in the First Division, the highest Cypriot football league. After the Turkish invasion in 1974 the city was in the Turkish- occupied part of the island, and the club moved to the nearby Peristerona.
History
Doxa (translated " glory ") was established in 1954. For the first time it was possible to ascend to him in 1998 in the Cypriot First Division, but as Penultimate they got the same again. After the re-emergence in 2000 they reached the eleventh place and were able to keep in the top division. By 2007, there were repeated ascent and descent, in the season 2003/ 04 managed just one win in 26 games. 2007 managed to rise again, since they belong - with a break in the season 2011 /12 - the first league to. Their home games they have since been fitted in Makario stadium in Nicosia and not in the home stadium of Peristerona. Since November 2012, the team of Loukas Hadjiloukas is trained, who played 26 internationals for Cyprus in the 1990s.
