Étienne Capoue

Étienne Capoue (2008)

Étienne Capoue ( born July 11, 1988 in Niort ) is a French footballer who is currently at Tottenham Hotspur under contract. His preferred position is defensive midfield. He is the younger brother of the under contract with the U.S. Boulogne Aurélien Capoue.

Career

Association

Capoue played in the Youth for Chamois Niort FC Chauray and SCO Angers, before he moved to Toulouse in 2005. There he was from the 2007/ 08 season to the professional squad and made his debut on 8 December 2007 in Ligue 1 when he came off the bench in the game against OSC Lille. In the 2008 /09 season he reached Toulouse with the 4th place and qualified for the UEFA Europa League, where Toulouse was eliminated in the group stage.

For the 2013/14 season Capoue moved to the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur.

National

With the French U19 national team, he participated in the U-19 Football Championship 2007, where he failed in the semifinals at the eventual champions Spain. For the French Under-21 national team, he was twelve times used, but failed to qualify for the U -21 Football Championship 2011. On August 15, 2012 Capoue came to his first race for the French national football team when he was a substitute in a friendly against Uruguay.
