European Open (Golf)

The European Open was until 2009 a golf tournament on the European Tour.

The tournament was founded in 1978 and played until 1994 at various golf courses in England, except in 1979 when it was held at Turnberry in Scotland. Between 1995 and 2007 it was bezw as Smurfit Kappa European Open. as Smurfit European Open annually at The Kildare Hotel and Golf Club ( K Club ) played in the Irish Straffan. Since 2008, the European Open at the were designed by Jack Nicklaus, discharged Heritage course of the London Golf Club in Kent, England. In 2009, the total prize money amounted to just over 2 million euros.
