Per-Ulrik Johansson

Per- Ulrik Johansson ( born December 6, 1966 in Uppsala ) is a Swedish professional golfer.

Career

He perceived a golf scholarship in the U.S. and attended Arizona State University where he was the NCAA Championship won in 1990 on the same team as Phil Mickelson. A year earlier he had secured the Swedish Amateur Championship.

Johansson 1990 professional golfers in the fall and qualified immediately on the Tour School for the European Tour. He got in his first year as a tournament victory and was awarded at the end of the season with the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award as best newcomer. He won a total of five events and reached in 1997 with an eleventh place in the European Tour Order of Merit his best ranking.

After successful completion of Q- School in 2000, Johansson played from 2001 to the North American PGA TOUR. Four Seasons he did maintain his eligibility to play, without being able to connect to its European success. In 2004, he missed due to injury half the season and the further qualification. Johannson tried in 2005, the second in rows Nationwide Tour, but was unsuccessful. Since 2006 he plays more frequently on the European Tour, but has not yet taken his old form. In August 2007, Johansson could win a tournament again after ten years, the Russian Open.

Johansson was the first Swede, the Cup team was represented twice (1995 and 1997) in the victorious European Ryder. He won in 1991 for Sweden, both the Dunhill Cup and the World Cup.

Per- Ulrik Johansson is with his wife Gil, the sister of his professional colleagues Jesper Parnevik, married. The two have a daughter (Stella, born August 7, 2003) and a resident of West Palm Beach, Florida.
