Evanescence
Evanescence [ ɛvənɛsəns ] (English from Latin evanescere: " dwindle " ) is an American alternative rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Career
The group was of the lead singer, pianist and songwriter Amy Hartzler (born Amy Lee) and Ben Moody founded. They met each other at a youth camp in Arkansas know where Moody heard Lee playing the song I'd Do Anything for Love by Meat Loaf on the piano.

New cast members from 2007
On May 5, 2007 Wind-Up Records was announced that guitarist and drummer Rocky Gray John LeCompt are no longer active from Evanescence. Will Hunt and Troy McLawhorn (both members of the band Dark New Day ) came as a replacement for the band. The former members Ben Moody, John LeCompt and Rocky Gray, together with the new singer Carly Smithson ( former participant of American Idol ) a new project called "We Are the Fallen" founded and published a first single in 2009. The music style is very similar to the style of Evanescence - the name of the band is, therefore, probably not coincidentally similar to the name of the first Evanescence album Fallen success. The first album was released on May 11, 2010.
For the benefit of Haiti a song titled Together Again was released by Evanescence. This track was originally intended for The Open Door, but for unknown reasons not included in the album. The song is digitally available since February 2010.
The new album Evanescence was published on 7 October 2011. According to her, the album is supposed to represent a new side of the band and has nothing to do with the genre of the two previous albums.
On August 9, 2011 What You Want was released as the first single from the new album. The single was also placed by download number 84 in the German charts. For the film, Underworld: Awakening, the band the title Made of Stone contributed. After the tour in 2012 Amy Lee announced that the band will make a creative break.

The influences of the band include Garbage, Living Sacrifice, Type O Negative, Portishead, Counting Crows and Sarah McLachlan. Initially, Evanescence has been assigned to the Christian rock scene.
