Fairyland (band)

Fairyland is a French symphonic power metal band.

History

The band was founded in 1998 in France under the name "Fantasia" by Philippe Giordana and Willdric Lievin, who were both fans of epic and symphonic Heavy Metal.

The first demo "Realm of Wonders " was released in 2000.

For the recording of the first album, a guitarist and Elisa C. Martin ( Dark Moor ) were committed with a singer Anthony Parker ( Heavenly ). Under a new name, the debut " Of Wars in Osyrhia " was published in 2003. Was followed by a tour in France as the opening act for Sonata Arctica and an appearance at the Sweden Rock Festival.

Published in 2006 the second album "The Fall of an Empire " with a new line on the label Napalm Records. The singer Elisa C. Martin was replaced by Max Leclerq. The bass, Thomas Cesario, on drums sat Pierre -Emmanuel Desfray.

After another successful tour with Kamelot it came to the split between the band members, which meant that all except keyboardist Philippe Giordana left the band.

However, this went on and published in March 2009 with " Score to a New Beginning," the third album, which was recorded exclusively with guest musicians. Elisa C. Martin returned to the microphone and shared this among others Georg Neuhauser of Serenity.

Style

The music of Fairyland is a blend of symphonic metal and power metal, which is mainly dominated by the keyboard playing the composer Philippe Giordana. Not infrequently, similar to the structure of most of the songs or entire instrumental pieces of music from movie soundtracks. The lyrical concept deals with the self-created world " Osyrhia " of which on every album is a conceptual story is told.
