Farnair Switzerland

Farnair Europe is the trade mark of the Swiss air carrier Farnair holding company headquartered in Basel. It consists of the airlines Farnair Switzerland and Hungary Farnair and operates bases at the airports of Basel Mulhouse Freiburg and Budapest.

History

Farnair was founded in 1984 as Farner Air Transport as an express cargo airline. Two Embraer EMB 110 procured Brussels - The fleet consisted of a Piper PA -31 Chieftain and one each Cessna 402, 404, and 421 in 1987 were for the line Basel. 1990, the Company received its first Fokker F- 27 for the compounds Basel - Basel and Brussels - Paris -Charles -de- Gaulle.

From 1991 to 1994 sat Farnair two Pilatus PC -6 and DHC- 6 Twin Otter, a logistical support of Swiss Medical for the mission of the United Nations MINURSO in Western Sahara. 1993 bought Farnair the Hungarian airline NAWA Air Transport and renamed it to Farner Air Transport Hungary. In 1995, she entered into a joint venture with the Dutch Tulip Air BV one. 1997 Farnair stationed in support of the UN and the Swiss government an F- 27 in Tbilisi. In the same year FARNER EUROPE AVIATION GROUP was established and enlarged the fleet of four Airbus A300. As launch customer Farnair received in 2000, an ATR 72-200 in full freighter version with a large cargo door and between December 2000 and March 2001, two ATR 42-300 for passenger transport.

In 2003, the companies Farnair Germany, Netherlands and Farnair Farnair Technical Service were sold. On the basis of a bilateral agreement between Switzerland and the EU Farnair was divided in 2004 into two companies, today Farnair Switzerland and Hungary Farnair under the direction of Farnair Holding.

On the morning of August 1, 2013 landed at 04:58 local time clock, an ATR 72 -200F the airline as the first plane at the capital airport BER and brought for UPS Airlines cargo from Cologne -Bonn.

In March 2014, the first Boeing 737-400 was acquired as a cargo version.

Destinations

Farnair Europe offers with its two subsidiaries of cargo and passenger flights in the Express, Ad- hoc or charter service. For UPS flights from Cologne / Bonn to be done at many different European destinations.
