Faruk YiÄŸit

Faruk Yiğit ( born April 15, 1966 in Trabzon ) is a former Turkish football player and coach. Due to his years of work for Kocaelispor he is associated with this club. With the Turkish national team, he participated in the 1996 European Championships, but came during this tournament at any stake. Besides his footballing achievements, he fell to his playing days at particularly through his informal appearance and its unusual for that time appearance. Yiğit came in 1966 in the Black Sea city of Trabzon on the world and moved in childhood with his family in the western Turkish province of Bursa. Here his family settled near the district town Orhangazi. In this area, he learned to play football in the youth departments of various amateur clubs.

For the season 1990/91 he moved to the then first division Boluspor. In his second season at Boluspor he stayed behind his performance the previous season. His club failed end of the season to avoid relegation.

After the descent Boluspors Yiğit remained in the top Turkish league, the first Lig, and joined the newly promoted Kocaelispor. National

Through its shown benefits Boluspor Yiğit was nominated by the then national coach Sepp Piontek in the context of a test match against Yugoslavia in the squad, the Turkish national team. In this game of 27 February 1991, he also gave his international debut. In the following year Yiğit was used three more times by Piontek in international matches.

After Yiğit was not nominated four years for the national team, he recommended himself by his achievements in Kocaelispor for the national team. Thus, the new national coach Fatih Terim him again nominated for national team. In the match against the Ukrainian National Team he also achieved his first and only international goal.

With the Turkish national team, he participated in the 1996 European Championships, but came during this tournament at any stake. During that game, he completed his eighth and final international.

After his career end supervised in the function of the head coach several clubs of his home province of Bursa and the surrounding area.
