Fasano

Fasano is a southern Italian town with 39 431 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in Apulia and belongs to the province of Brindisi.

The city has an area of 128 km ². The average altitude is 118 m slm.

Location

The town of Fasano is located 50 kilometers southeast of Bari and 50 kilometers northwest of Brindisi, practically exactly at the half of the distance between these two southern Italian port cities. Located at the Gulf port city of Taranto is located about 45 kilometers south. Seen From Rome to Fasano 400 km as the crow is to the southeast. The distance from the center of the city to the coast on the Adriatic Sea with the small port locations Savelletri and Torre Canne is 6-10 kilometers.

The neighboring municipalities are Alberobello (BA ), Cisternino, Locorotondo (BA ), Monopoli (BA ) and Ostuni.

Infrastructure

Immediately on the outskirts passes the European route 55 A at least partially well-developed, supra-regional road link leads south to Tarentum.

On the railway line Bari - Brindisi, the city has a station located about three kilometers outside.

The small beach towns on the coast are not only visited by local bathers but now also by foreign tourists.

In close proximity to the neighboring village of Alberobello located in the wine growing areas of many of the famous Trulli of Puglia.
