FC Irtysh Pavlodar

The FK Ertis Pavlodar ( Kazakh Ертіс Футбол Клубы / Ertis Futbol Kluby; Russian Иртыш футбольный клуб / Irtysh futbolny club ) is a Kazakh football club based in Pavlodar, which currently plays in the Premjer League. The association is with five league titles The champions of Kazakhstan, next to it a profit of Kazakh Cup to book. History

Name development

The club was founded in 1964 as Ertis Pavlodar ( Kazakh ) and Irtysh Pavlodar ( Russian). In 1968 it was renamed the Pavlodar Tractor ( Трактор Павлодар ). After the end of the Soviet era, the club was renamed again in 1996 in 1993 in Ansat Pavlodar ( Ансат Павлодар ) and in the original name, which derives from the Kazakh name of the river Irtysh ( Ertis ).

Soviet Championship

The team took from 1965 to 1971 and from 1973 to 1991 a total of 26 times at the Soviet Championship part. Most seasons were spent in the third highest league in the Soviet Union. In the seasons 1969, 1973, 1978, 1980, 1988 and 1989, the team from Pavlodar won the zone championship and fought against other master zone for promotion to the second highest Soviet league. Twice reached the summit. In the seasons 1979 and 1981 the team took part in the match operation of the second Soviet league, but each had to take the bitter passage in the third division. With two seasons in the second highest league in the Soviet Union Irtysh Pavlodar is according to Kairat Almaty and Karaganda Shakhtar 's third- best team in Kazakhstan.

Kazakh Cup

After the independence of Kazakhstan, the club was a founding member of the Kazakhstan Super League. In the very first edition of the competition succeeded in 1992 winning the bronze medal. In 1993, the first championship title was won and the following year the runner-up behind the FK Jelimai Semipalatinsk. The 1995 season ended Ertis on the seventh rank. 1997 as the same number of points FK Taras on October 13, before 7,500 spectators were defeated 1-0 in the decider at the Central Stadium Almaty, 1999, four points ahead of Access Jessil Petropavlovsk, 2002, eight points clear of second-placed FK Atyrau and 2003 before the runner Tobyl Qostanai followed by more championship titles, thus the club with five championship titles in the record champion of Kazakhstan. 2009, the team reached a disappointing ninth place, which is the worst result of the team from Pavlodar. 1998 scored the first Cup victory when Qaisar Hurricane Kyzylorda was beaten 2-1 after extra time. Furthermore, the team was still twice in the Kazakh Cup final. 2001 Schenis Astana turned on penalties to be too strong, in 2002 handed the club from Astana 1-0.

Ertis is one of only two teams next Shakhtar Karaganda, who participated in all sweeps of the Kazakh elite class.

Participation in AFC competitions

For the first time the club from Pavlodar joined the AFC Champions League in the season 1994/95 in appearance. In the Central Asian group, the club had to settle for third place from Ashgabat Turkmenistan with just three points from four games behind the FK Neftchi Fargona from Uzbekistan and Köpetdag.

In the edition of 1998/99 the team was after Köpetdag Ashgabat was beaten, disqualified because of unauthorized use of ineligible players.

The following host 1999/2000 of the Uzbek representatives Paxtakor Tashkent was eliminated with a total score of 9:5 in the first round. In the second round had the Varzob Dushanbe Tajikistan 4-0 and 1-0 against Irtysh no chance. In the quarterfinals, but lost all three group games and the team was eliminated.

In the 2000 /01 season Ertis Pavlodar reached in the AFC Champions League semi-final, but failed to Júbilo Iwata from Japan. In the match for third place, the team moved to 0-2 against the Iranian representative Pirouzi Tehran lose out.

Participations in UEFA competitions

The team failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League 2003 /04 on Cypriot representatives Omonia Nicosia after a draw 0:0 and then 1:2 home defeat. In the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League 2009/10 the club met the Hungarian club Haladás Szombathely and retired after 0-1 and 2-1 by the away goals rule from the competition.

In the season 2011/12 has been overcome the first hurdle in the European soccer stage in the third experiment, when the Polish club Jagiellonia Białystok was beaten in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The next opponent Olimpi Rustavi in Georgia, however, proved to be too strong for the team from Pavlodar.

Stadium

Play their home games Ertis from Pavlodar Central Stadium built in 1947. It can accommodate 15,000 spectators and was modernized in 2001 and 2007. In the season 2005, the Central Stadium in Pavlodar was the most visited stadium in the Kazakh Premjer League.
