FedExForum

The FedExForum is a multi-purpose arena in the U.S. city of Memphis. It mainly serves as a venue for the Memphis Grizzlies (NBA) and the Tigers of the University of Memphis ( NCAA Basketball ), both of which previously played in the Pyramid Arena. The nickname goes back to the Grizzlies player Tony Allen; who described the hall as The Grindhouse. This took over the Grizzlies fans.

The arena opened in September 2004 after many debates and a storm that nearly destroyed the cranes involved in the construction work in July 2003. The construction costs of about 250 million U.S. dollars have been financed from public funds. Based in Memphis FedEx Corporation secured for 92 million U.S. dollars the naming rights.

The capacity of the arena amounts to 18,119 seats for basketball games, but there is also the possibility of Hockey games, hold concerts and family shows.
