Ferenc Németh

Ferenc Németh ( born April 4, 1936 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian modern pentathlete who won two Olympic gold medals in 1960.

He started in 1954 at the club Csepel SC with the modern pentathlon. His only major title he won at the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960, when he defeated his compatriot Imre Nagy with 4988 points with 5024 points. In the team competition, the two won with fourth-placed András Balczó superior gold against the team from the Soviet Union. After his career Németh was fencing coach.
