Ferencvárosi TC

Ferencvaros Budapest ( officially: Ferencvárosi Torna Club, suburban Franz German Turnverein ), is a Hungarian sports club from the capital Budapest. Home and namesake of the association is the southeastern IX. City district Ferencvaros ( German Franz suburb ), which is named after the Austrian Emperor Franz I.. The colors of the club founded in 1899 are green and white.

The football section of the FTC looks back on a history as the most successful club in Hungary. It is equipped with 28 or 20 tracks record champions and trophy winners of the country and represented Hungary at the European level. History of the Club

The Ferencvárosi Torna Club was founded on 3 May 1899. The emblem of the club are the three E for Erkölcs, ERO, Egyetértés ( " morality, strength, harmony "). Club colors were from the beginning of green and white. The five green and four white stripes stand for the IX. District. Since 3 December 1900, there is the football department. One of the first teacher for the team was in 1902, the team from Oxford, it was 0:16 with the heaviest defeat to date. 1926 split the football department as Ferencvárosi Football Club and became independent, but in 1944 returned back to the original club FTC. In the championship season 1931/32 the FTC won all 22 games. This service is unique in Hungary and worldwide rare. In the years of Stalinism in Hungary there was the FTC under this name not because the popularity of the organization of the party and state leaders displeased - 1950-1956 was named the club ÉDOSZ SE.

At the international level switched Ferencvaros on the way out in the final of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup 1964/65, among other Roma, Athletic Bilbao and Manchester United. In the finals, which took place in Turin, the Budapest prevailed by a goal by Máté Fenyvesi in the 74th minute against Juventus 1-0 and thus brought the first and only trophy of the modern European Cup competitions in Hungary. After the club had already won in the first half of the 20th century major European tournaments succeeded Ferencvaros Budapest 1995 as the first (and until 2009 the only) team from Hungary, the qualification to the group stage of the Champions League.

In recent years there have been numerous scandals involving the FTC, which cost a lot of money and the fans put to a severe test. But even violent fans of the club made ​​infamous headlines.

Three days before the start of the season 2006/ 07 was decided by the Hungarian Association that Ferencvaros is excluded from the championship due to financial irregularities and must compete in the 2006/07 season in the second division. Since the club was founded in 1900 it was the first descent of the association. The club had not received the license because of financial problems, were still of salary payments from different trainers and former president. The immediate promotion back to the Premier League failed at the final day.

2007 named the club 's venue, the stadium Üllő úti to enable one of its greatest heroes in Albert Flórián Stadium. In March 2013, the demolition of the 40 -year-old venue began with 18,100 seats to make Plätz for a new stadium with 22,600 seats and 29 skyboxes.
