Fieberbrunn is a market town with 4347 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the Tyrol. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Kitzbühel.

The market town of Fieberbrunn is in the Kitzbühel Alps and is the largest town of the PillerseeTal.

History

About the time of the first occupation of the site is not known, but it is believed that even before the Roman period mining was carried out. The first written reference to the year 1156 as " Pramau " back.

Fieberbrunn once belonged to the Benedictine monastery Hofmark Pillersee Rott am Inn, which in Tyrol had considerable possessions.

In the 16th century the town was in its heyday, when mining ( 2057 meters) and has intensified in Rettenwandauen above the modern lake leek on Gebra. The iron obtained was processed to 1908 to the then world famous Pillerseestahl, which had an iron purity of more than 35% and was smelted in the hamlet Rosenegg.
