The Samtgemeinde Fintel is a community association in the east of the district of Rotenburg ( Wümme) in Lower Saxony. It has about 7,500 inhabitants.

Samtgemeinde outline

The integrated municipality consists of the five member communities Lauenbrück, Fintel, Helvesiek, chiselling and Vahlde. In particular, the existence of two types of nuclei: Lauenbrück and Fintel. In these two-thirds of the population live. Fintel is the economic center. Lauenbrück comes because of his station, the connection to the B75, the secondary school of the velvet municipality and town hall to its importance in another field.

Neighboring communities

The integrated municipality has eight neighboring municipalities in three counties. In the west it borders the municipality Scheessel unit. In the north the communities Hamersen, Sittingbourne and Tiste from the Samtgemeinde Sittingbourne lie on. In the northeast, then Heidenau, Wistedt and Königsmoor follow from the integrated municipality in the district of Harburg Tostedt and to the south the town of Schneverdingen from the Heide circle.

History

The history of the member communities reaches far back into the past. Archaeological findings show that already 3,000 to 4,000 years ago were found on the territory of today Samtgemeinde first settlements. Were first mentioned the places of the velvet municipality in the Middle Ages ( Fintel 1105 Helvesiek in 1250, Lauenbrück 1358, Breaking 1351 and Vahlde 1180). The administrative center Lauenbrück goes on a foundation by Heinrich back the lions.

The establishment of the Samtgemeinde Fintel place in the year 1970. At that time, the communities Fintel, Helvesiek, Lauenbrück, chiselling and Vahlde voluntarily joined together to form a new municipal association with the status of a public corporation.

Samtgemeinde Mayor

As one of the few municipalities in Lower Saxony Fintel the Municipality had applied the old two-tier local government law with a full-time management tip and a volunteer Samtgemeinde mayor. Full-time Samtgemeinde director was last Friedrich Dreyer. Honorary Samtgemeinde mayor was Claus Riebesehl of the CDU. Since June 2008, the non-party Michael Niestädt full-time Santgemeindebürgermeister after he was chosen as the common candidate of all Samtgemeinde Council fractions 27 January 2008 for this purpose.

Blazon: The coat of arms of the velvet municipality shows a silver shield, which includes two blue wave beam with five green circles.

Meaning: The two blue wavy bars symbolize the rivers Wümme and Fintau that pass through the area of the velvet municipality. The five green circles stand for the five member communities of the velvet municipality.

Parks

In Lauenbrück there is an extensive deer park.

Economy and infrastructure

Fintel is one of the focal points of tourism Wümme the lowlands. So here there is the holiday park Euro beach.

Public institutions

The member communities have volunteer fire departments. In Fintel there is a police station, in Lauenbrück is a rescue station. In Lauenbrück is the town hall of the velvet municipality. In Lauenbrück and Fintel provide doctors health supply.

Education

In the integrated municipality there are six kindergartens, of which in each member municipality one in Lauenbrück are two. In Lauenbrück and Fintel there is one primary school and in secondary school is Lauenbrück Fintauschule.

Traffic

The parts of the community are connected with each other and with the surrounding area by county roads. In the West Helvesiek is also traversed in a north-south direction from the L130. Lauenbrück and caulking are due to the through traffic on the B75 and the railway line between Hamburg and Bremen for the inter-regional traffic is important. On this railway line the Municipality is connected by a railway station in Lauenbrück. From there, hourly local trains from Hamburg and Bremen.
