Geography

Through the town Fintau and Ruschwede, which unite west of Vahlde to Fintau flow. To the municipality next to the main town Vahlde include also the places Benkeloh and Riepe. The place is dominated by agriculture substantially and is embedded in an attractive landscape.

Community structure

The three districts are politically separated into two areas. In the southern part are the main village and the village Vahlde Benkeloh. The district Riepe is a northern thereof lying by the municipality Lauenbrück separate from the rest of the municipality, exclave.

History

1180 occurs the first mention of Vahlde as Valentlo in a charter of the bishop of Verden. Vahlde and the districts Benkeloh and Riepe were until 1940 part of the Scheeßler parish and since then belong to the Church community Fintel. By 1973 the city had a village school.

Vahlde was founded in 1970 by a voluntary association with four other communities in the Member Samtgemeinde Fintel.

Blazon: The coat of arms shows the silhouettes of three flying birds in black on a yellow background. Among them are blue to see bands that unite, coming from the left and right edge, at the bottom of the coat of arms. Meaning: The three birds symbolize the three districts, the blue bands represent the confluence of Fintau and Ruschwede west of Vahlde dar.
