Farven

Farven is (Wümme ) in Lower Saxony, 14 km southeast of Bremervörde a municipality in the district of Rotenburg. The municipality also includes the addition Farven place Byhusen. Between the two places, the Bever flows through it.

History

The first mention was made in 1132 as Farven Verwede.

Incorporations

On March 1, 1974, the neighboring community Byhusen was incorporated in the course of municipal reform in 1974. Farven belongs to Samtgemeinde Selsingen.

Explanation of the name

Old names of the place are 1132-1137 and 1237-1246 Verwede Verwede. The place name is in the second part of the Low German " wil " for " forest " and the first part of the Old Frisian " fara " " go, go " for. Apparently, he refers to the location of the settlement of a traffic.
