Geography
Geographical Location
Westerwalsede lies west of Kirchwalsede ( hence the name Wester ) in a north-western foothills of the members of the Stader Geest Geest Achim- Verden.

History
According to ancient traditions of the Germanic god Wotan had its seat in forest Werdanske, today Westerwalsede.
Westerwalsede was mentioned around the year 1230 in Verden Cathedral for the first time in a document. The district Süderwalsede 1981 national winner in the competition Our village is beautiful (now Our village has a future).
Incorporations
On March 1, 1974, the neighboring community Süderwalsede was incorporated.

Traffic
Westerwalsede lies on the railway line Verden -Rotenburg and has here an operating station. The trains stop here not to enter and exit.
