Since the election on September 10, 2006 The Samtgemeinderat consists of 27 members. Of this amount, the CDU 14, SPD on the nine and one on the FDP, the WFB and the group of voters course Wilstedt.

The Council of Samtgemeinde Tarmstedt has over the electoral period 2011-2016 a total of 26 members. The CDU, FDP and NW form a group. The Green has joined the SPD. The Samtgemeinderat consists of 13 CDU members, seven members of the SPD, FDP, a member of a NW- member, a GREEN member and two members of GBL.

Culture and Education

School and library Samtgemeinde Tarmstedt

The library was founded in 1959. It was and is housed as a public library in each one of the schools. Currently she is based in the Cooperative School. With an extensive range of media and events for all age groups from small children to senior citizens, it contributes to culture and education in the rural environment.
