Fouad Siniora

Fuad Siniora or Fouad Siniora (Arabic فؤاد السنيورة Fu'ad as- Sinyūra; born April 14, 1943 in Sidon ) was Prime Minister of Lebanon on 30 June 2005 to 9 November 2009 as the successor of Najib Miqati. It belongs to the group of Sunnis, who make after the Constitution of 1999 the head of government (the two presidencies - President and Speaker of Parliament - in the sense of a confessional parity Christians and Shiite Muslims reserved).

After studying at the American University in Beirut, Siniora was initially employed at Citibank, before he held a teaching position at the American University in the 1970s. He then worked from 1977 in the Audit Committee of the Lebanese Central Bank before he was employed by the company of Rafiq Hariri, from the year 1982.

He was in several post-war governments finance minister Rafiq Hariri and close confidant. Most recently, he was Chairman and Managing Director of Groupe Méditerranée, which includes the Banque de la Méditerranée, Saudi Lebanese Bank, Allied Bank and Banque de la Méditerranée Suisse.

He is married to Huda Bsat and has three children.

Until May 25, 2008 Siniora was provisional President of Lebanon, Michel Suleiman was later elected to the office of president.
