Franklin is a city in Milwaukee County in the southeast of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In 2000, Franklin had 29,494 inhabitants, an estimate in 2006 showed an increase in the population to 33 812.

Geography and transport
Franklin is located at 42 ° 53'57 " north latitude and 88 ° 6'53 " west longitude and extends over 70.0 km ², spread to 69.6 km ² land and 0.4 km ² water surface.
The city of Franklin is situated on both sides of the Root River, which flows into Lake Michigan in neighboring Racine County.
