Fröttmaning (Munich U-Bahn)

The subway station is a railway station Froettmaning the Munich U -Bahn.

It was opened on 30 June 1994 and is located on the northern outskirts in Froettmaning district. The nearest railway station to the north, Garching- Hochbrueck already lies outside the city limits. The 4208 meter course there is the longest line of the Munich U -Bahn without stopping. North of the overground train station is the main workshop of the Munich U -Bahn with extensive track systems. In the immediate vicinity is located on the southwestern starting the development area " Haidpark ", which connects directly to the residential area north pine garden. Originally opened up just a big park - and-ride car park on the A9, stay out with the aim to traffic out of the city to the train station.

Less than ten years after the opening it was demolished during the construction of the Allianz Arena from 2002 to 2005 and built about 50 meters north viergleisig new. Usually the trains run on track 2 into town, out of town on track 1 trains that turn from the inner city coming at the bus stop, keep on track 4 The roof of a light- permeable membrane sits on a tree-like structure. The platforms are designed with granite tops and separate between the tracks by a fence. On the west side of a concrete wall separates the station from the Fröttmaninger Heath. The wall is painted with a work of art by Peter Kogler. At the southern and the northern end of each there is a bridge over the tracks of the main workshop. At the southern end you reach the P R car park at the northern end of a footpath on the Allianz Arena.
