Sendlinger Tor (Munich U-Bahn)

Metro Station Sendlinger Gate in the south of Munich's old town is a station of the Munich subway. The metro station is next to the main train station and Odeon Square transportation hub of the Munich transport, on which the original route 1 and the main line 2 subway crossing. There, the underground lines U1, U2, U3, U6, U7 and U8 tram lines meet 16, 17, 18 and 27

Upper level (U3 and U6)

The station Sendlinger Gate of U3 and U6 is one of the oldest stations in the route network. It was opened along with the first Munich subway route on 19 October 1971.

Columns and wall coverings in accordance with the uniform, objective design used at this time. The wall panels are held in Tan and have the blue strip of the original route of the U3 and U6. The columns on the platform are tiled in the detection light blue color. At the southern end and in the middle there are sunrises to the mezzanine. The platforms of the U1, U2 and U7 can be reached via escalators, which are located below the middle stairs. The elevator at the north end of the platform leads only up to the mezzanine level and was not installed until later.

The next stop is the north Marienplatz. Just south of the station is a reversing facility, in turn the amplifier units towards the football stadium and the Olympic Center. At the end of the tunnel, built 1938-41 dragon begins to Goethe place that is traveled today. He has been misused in World War II, first as an air raid shelter and then to mushroom cultivation.

Lower level (U1, U2, U7 and U8)

The station with the symbol SU was released at the opening of the subway route from Scheidplatz to Neuperlach South on October 18, 1980 the traffic. The U1, U2, U7 and U8 underpass in northwest-southeast direction the train station on the U3 and U6. The platforms for each direction are located in an expanded inward tunnel. Directly below the line of the upper level there is a cross- platform, in the open, the stairs from the upper level. A laterally arranged staircase leads to the mezzanine. The station is kept in grellerem shade of yellow compared to the upper level and has on the wall behind the tracks the red stripes of the original route of the U1 and U2. The nearest train station to the northwest is the main railway station, where connection is made to the S -Bahn and long-distance train. South-east is the subsequent station Fraunhoferstrasse. Just as on the upper level trains from the north can turn coming through a reversing facility.

The circulating since December 12, 2011 gain line U7 starts only in the rush hour. Since December 15, 2013 ends on Sendlinger Tor Saturdays amplifier U8 direction from the Olympic Center.

Line 16

Towards the west, on line 16 on Karlsplatz ( Stachus ), Central Station and hackers bridge over the Arnulf Street Romanplatz. To the east it passes over Isar Gate, - where it separates from the line 18 - Max -Weber-Platz and Herkomerplatz - where it rejoins the line 18 - to St. Emmeram.

Line 17

Towards the west, on line 17 via the Karlsplatz on the route of line 16 to Roman court, where they served the section on the Menzingerstraße past the Nymphenburg Palace to Amalienburgstraße without the line 16. To the south leads them as the lines 16 and 18 by the Müller road branches off here but right by the Fraunhofer road towards Giesing, where they eventually ends at the Schwanseestraße.

Line 18

Towards the west, on line 18 on Karlsplatz ( Stachus ), Central Station and the Westend Road to Gondrellplatz. Eastwards it travels over Isar Gate - where it separates from the line 16 - and Herkomerplatz - where it rejoins the line 16 - Effnerplatz (temporarily to St. Emmeram ).

Line 27

Line 27 ends here in a reversing loop on the Sendlinger- Tor-Platz. The north leads on Karlsplatz, Barer Straße and Nordbad to Petuelring.
