Stiglmaierplatz

The subway station is a railway station Stiglmaierplatz the Munich subway below the Stiglmaierplatzes, which is named after the ore caster, sculptor and medalist Johann Baptist Stiglmaier.

The station is located in the Maxvorstadt under the eponymous square. The station was opened on 8 May 1983, is served by the U1 and since December 12, 2011 by the gain line U7, which only runs in the morning rush hour. The hanging on the rear track walls brown and white lamellae are arranged so that they will always be wider or narrower. Like most underground stations of the 80 is clad ceiling with aluminum fins, the floor with Isarkiesel motif and the columns with brown tiles also at Stiglmaierplatz. An elevator and several flights of stairs lead directly to change to tram 20/21 to the surface. The western block basement beneath the intersection Nymphenburger-/Sandstraße is to reach by stairs. The columns were dressed up in October 2009 with white facings, because in 2008, the tiles were removed, because the bonding was porous and fell off individual tiles.
