Candidplatz

Metro Station Candidplatz is a station on the U1 line of the Munich subway. It is located in the sub district of Giesing under the Pilgersheimer Street and extends south to the under Candid bridge the middle ring. At the subway station is connected to the Metro bus lines 52 and 54

The station was opened on 8 November 1997. The overlying place is named after the painter and sculptor Pieter de Witte, called Peter Candid named in Munich and the surrounding area worked in the 16th century.

The platform area is decorated in rainbow colors that blend into each other and dissolve the dominant constructive longitudinal lines. The expansion concept and the design of the color scheme come from Paul Kramer and Sabine Koschier ( Underground Unit ), the detailed design of Egon Konrad, Munich.
