Georg-Brauchle-Ring (Munich U-Bahn)

The underground station Georg- Brauchle ring is a station of the Munich U -Bahn under the Hanauerstraße on the border between the districts of Moosach and Milbertshofen.

The station is named as the crossing- Georg- Brauchle ring after the former second mayor of Munich, Georg Brauchle. It was opened on 18 October 2003 and until 2004, was the terminus of the U1. The platform is using columns and has a height of 7.50 meters. The rear track walls are eg with pictures from both the environment as well as from all over the world designed from Berlin or New York. The areas between the images consist of colorful rectangles. Encouraged by the bright soil surface spatial structure continues into the lock bullets. Under the crossing Hanauerstraße / Georg- Brauchle- ring is the southern lock basement, where a kiosk is located. At the northern end there is another, much smaller barrier basement.

2005, the painter Franz Ackermann received the " mfi Award Kunst am Bau 2005 " for his wall design with the title The Great Journey.
