Fuchstal

Fuchstal is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech, about 60 kilometers southwest of Munich and forms with the community Unterdießen the administrative community Fuchstal.

Geography

The actual Fuchstal runs like a valley of meadows Bach of Erpfting about Ellighofen, Unterdießen, Asch, Seestall, Leeder up after Denklingen.

The origin of the name Fuchstal applies the valley shape, reminiscent of a fox. Another version says that the name so can be derived from the brown-red color of the meadows in the summer, remember the color of a fox.

Geographical Location

Market Leeder and Asch are approximately 2 km west of the Lech river on a broad gravel terrace, which is bounded on the east by a Altmoränenzug. Seestall is located on the Lech, the upper part of the village is located raised on a gravel terrace. Through the municipal area between Seestall Leeder and the federal highway 17, which belongs to the Romantic Road runs here. History

History of the district market Leeder

The oldest district of the municipality is the market Leeder, which was probably founded by Franks in the 8th century as a fortified village to protect the Swabian backcountry Bavarian attacks. It is believed that the place name from the Flemish " Lethe " - that is, artificial watercourse derived " Lede ". The church today Fuchstal was formed in 1972 as part of local government reform by the merger of municipalities Asch, market Leeder and Seestall. In 1978, the municipalities Fuchstal and Unterdießen joined together to manage community Fuchstal.

The current coat of arms of Fuchstal was adopted by the municipality in 2000 and replaced the originated from the 50s Coat of Asch and Leeder. It shows a silver sign foot with a split red rudder, front in blue with a silver wave oblique beams, the back of a green ash gold leaf.

The rudder refers to the former Flößerort Seestall, the oblique bar indicates the current through Leeder smith creek, the ash leaf in the community town of Asch.

Culture and sights
