Gábor Király [ ɡa ː bor kira ː j] ( born April 1, 1976 in Szombathely, Hungary) is a Hungarian football goalkeeper. He stands at TSV 1860 München under contract.

Career

Clubs

Haladás Szombathely

Király played from 1993 Haladás Szombathely in the NB I. In his first year as a pro, he experienced the first relegation of his career. However, after a season in the NB II succeeded the immediate resurgence. Király was careful in the next two seasons in the NB I. goal of the team from his hometown. Until 1997 he was a total of 96 times in the gate of Haladás Szombathely.

Hertha BSC

For the season 1997/98 he left his homeland and joined the German Bundesliga club Hertha BSC. After some uncertainty in the first few games Király was the undisputed No. 1 in Berliner Tor. He was also known by its gray " baggy pants", the outfitter Nike even took up the merchandise program later. In the 1998/99 season he was statistically the best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga. He conceded the fewest goals and defeated most of the large opportunities. Thus he had a big role in the successful performance of the Berlin ( 3rd place). In the Bundesliga, he kept a total of 198 times the gate of Hertha, he came in the League Cup nine times and 13 times in the DFB - Pokal for use. In the UEFA Cup, he has been used 20 times and in the 1999/2000 season he played for Hertha - including qualifying - twelve Champions League games.

Crystal Palace

After the winter break of the season 2003/ 04 he was replaced by substitute goalkeeper Christian Fiedler as No. 1. He was diagnosed with severe depression and he left the club at that English first division side Crystal Palace in London. Then he managed to overcome the depression by supporting the Hungarian goalkeeper Gyula Grosics legend. In the 2004/05 season he played for Crystal Palace 32 Premier League games and was considered one of the best goalkeepers in the league, but could not prevent the descent of the London clubs.

From November 23 to December 11, 2006 he was loaned for three games at West Ham United, but he sat with all three games on the bench and returned without use to Crystal Palace. Two days later he was loaned for one month at Aston Villa in the Premier League, as both goalkeepers dropped out due to injury. His debut for the club from Birmingham he gave on December 16, 2006 against the Bolton Wanderers at home in Villa Park and later denied four Premiership games, as well as an FA Cup game for the club. His last game for Aston Villa he played in the 1-2 defeat against Manchester United in the FA Cup on January 7, 2007 and was there by a mistake in stoppage time to Unlucky. On 12 January 2007 he returned to Crystal Palace and was there again goalkeeper. Overall Király stood at 114 league games in goal for Crystal Palace.

Burnley FC

In the summer of 2007 he moved to FC Burnley, who also played in the Football League Championship. In the 2007 /08 season he was used there 27 times. In the first half of the following season he played, however, not once. For the second round, he was until season's end to the Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen on loan. There he was nominally Vice - DFB Cup winner, but had behind René Adler satisfied with the post of substitute goalkeeper. Thus he came in the 2008 /09 season at no use in professional football.

TSV 1860 München

For the 2009/10 season Kiraly switched to the German second division club TSV 1860 Munich, where he signed a two-year contract with an option for another year. Coach Ewald Lienen immediately trusted him the position of the root keeper to Philip Tschauner and Michael Hofmann, who had alternated in previous seasons regularly in goal for the Sechzger, had left behind. With the exception of the last league game Kiraly was careful in his first year in Munich in all competitions the gate of the lions. Even in his second year in Munich, he completed 33 league games, only in the last home game Tschauner guarded the gate. With strong performances he was able to secure his team repeatedly points.

In the season 2011/12 Kiraly was as regular goalkeeper ahead of Timo Ochs, who had been committed as a substitute for Tschauner set. After the home game against Eintracht Frankfurt 26 November 2011 awarded him the kicker as a man of the 16th game of the day, after he had defeated several great chances of Frankfurt in the game. On the 19th match day, the last before the winter break, Kiraly was sidelined after he suffered a hamstring injury in training. After the winter break, he played to a game in which junior goalkeeper Vitus Eicher came to its first use, all of the games.

Also in the 2012/13 season Kiraly was goalkeeper and was used in all league games. On the 1st and 5th Round Kiraly was chosen by Foosball Man of the match day. In December 2013, his contract was due to his athletic achievements and his leadership team in early 2015 extended with a performance-based option for a further year.

National

Király was already in the Hungarian U-19 national team seven times for use, ten times he ran for the U -21. In the senior team, he played 70 times by 2006. After the 1-2 defeat on 11 October 2006 in Valletta against Malta, he was not called to the national team. On 12 August 2009 he was back in the squad of the national team, but was not in the 0-1 defeat against Romania for use. On 14 November 2009 he was employed in the game against Belgium after more than three years in the national team. Since then he comes back regularly in the Hungarian gateway to use.
