Gabriel Wüthrich

Gabriel Wüthrich ( born August 28, 1981 in Echallens ) is a Swiss football goalkeeper, who has a contract with first division side FC Lucerne.

Playing career

Gabriel Wüthrich began his career in 1999 at FC Biel -Bienne, and after a year to Neuchâtel Xamax in the Axpo Super League. There he fought with his club in the next three years always against relegation, but was able to complete 29 league games and gain first game as a professional practice. In the 2003 /04 season Wüthrich played for the SR Delémont in the Challenge League and then from FC St. Gallen as a replacement for goalkeeper Stefano Razzetti committed. After two years and the obligation of Daniel Lopar other than goalkeeper, he left St. Gallen again and moved to FC Vaduz in the second division. After a year he was replaced on the bench again at the Liechtenstein Association through the loan Yann Sommer. At the end of the season 2007/ 08 he went to Vaduz in the first league, but still had no prospects of a regular place as the loan agreement was extended summer again. Wüthrich's contract was terminated by mutual agreement and in January 2009 he moved for half a year to the German third division side FC Carl Zeiss Jena, where he remained behind Carsten Nulle substitute. In the 2009/10 season he was goalkeeper for FC Lugano, which was in the second Swiss league at the end of the season runner-up. Since 2010, Gabriel Wüthrich stands at FC Luzern under contract and is behind David Zibung number two in goal.
