In office Gadebusch seven municipalities and the city have Gadebusch ( administrative seat ) joined forces to fulfill their administrative business. On 1 January 2004, the hitherto official free city Gadebusch merged with the existing since August 1, 1991 Official Gadebusch - country to his new position Gadebusch. The Office is located in the southwest of the district of North West Mecklenburg and bordered to the south by the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim and to the west by the Schleswig-Holstein Duchy of Lauenburg.
The office area is located in the transition zone between the north-western part of the lake district and the Lauenburg Lakes. In the official is a part of the North Sea - Baltic Sea watershed. While the rivers Radegast and Stepenitz flow north to the Baltic Sea, the river Shields takes the opposite way over the Schaale, brews and Elbe to the North Sea. The highest point of the district area is 82 m above sea level. NHN.
Through the Office Gadebusch the federal highways 104 and 208 lead the city Gadebusch is located on the side rail line Schwerin Rehna.
