Gaétan Boucher

Gaétan Boucher, OC, CQ ( born May 10, 1958 in Charlesbourg, Quebec ) is a former Canadian speed skater.

He was at the 1984 Olympic Games in Sarajevo Olympic champion in the 1,000 m and 1,500 m and won the bronze medal over 500 m. He was also the first Canadian Olympic gold medalist in speed skating.

At the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, he had already won the silver medal in the 1,000 m. 1984 was the most successful year of his career, he was crowned in addition to his two Olympic gold medals, winning the title at the Sprint World Championships.
