Geir Rönning
Geir Ronning ( born November 5, 1962 in Ålesund as Geir Ola Rønning ) is a Norwegian singer.
He took from 1995 to 1997 each in the national preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest, the Melodi Grand Prix in part. With his self-penned tracks but he could not win a victory. After moving to Finland where he became active and took part in the playoffs in 2004 and 2005. Participation in 2005 brought him the victory and so he was allowed to compete for Finland at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev. With its pop ballad Why? about the hostage -taking in Beslan, he reached but only number 18 in the semi-finals and was eliminated for the final.
A renewed participation in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix 2006 earned him fourth place at eight artists an. He went there along with singer Jorum Erdal on as a duo. In 2010 he took part in the Swedish Idol talent show, where he made it to number 7
