Ghosts ' n' Stuff ( partly written Ghosts N Stuff, English for ghosts and such) is a song by Deadmau5 in collaboration with Rob Swire, who was then lead singer of the electronic band Pendulum. The song was first released 27 October 2008 on Beatport. The title is included on the album For Lack of a Better Name. Also a version without Swire has been published.

Background

After Swire and Deadmau5 had met earlier, they decided to work together to produce a song. The song was originally produced for a show of Pete Tong played on BBC Radio 1. At that time, the song was still the name of "hotel" because it was taken in a hotel. Its premiere then celebrated the song during a live audience, the HARD Haunted Mansion 2008.

Music Video

The music video, which was directed by Colin O'Toole in Toronto, was first released on August 19, 2009 to YouTube. There it got over 28 million hits. For the version without Rob Swire not a music video was shot, just pure audios are on YouTube. The most watched video with this version has more than 32 million clicks.

The song failed to reach placement in the British charts in the first week, the next week, however, it debuted at number 61, the maximum placement was ranked 12th Overall, the single stayed for seven weeks in the top 75 in Canada, you could also place 53 reach.

Criticism

David Balls of Digital Spy had a positive opinion about the song: He said that the song was not so radio- commercially as productions of David Guetta, but sounded just as good on the dancefloor. From listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J, the song was chosen at No. 96 of the best songs of 2009.

Use in the media

The song was used in the movie The Art of Flight and advertising for the fifth season of America's Best Dance Crew as background music. Nick Swisher, a baseball player of the New York Yankees, let the song play as " at-bat song " when he celebrated a success in the game. In an episode of Beavis and Butt-Head, the music video was used. In the film Get Him to the song is also found in one place. In a commercial for the PlayStation Move title was also using. In addition, the song is in the soundtrack of the game Need for Speed: Shift, contain Test Drive Unlimited 2 and DJ Hero 2.
